Program

In this PhD course, we plan to make an overview of user modeling and recommender systems models and their impact on the user experience.

We will examine different recommendation algorithms and their offline and online evaluation.
We will also talk about different methods to visualize the recommendation results through explanation and justification models, so as to make user interaction smoother and engaging.

This is in line with the Human-Centered AI topic where not only the recommender system results are important but also the perception of the recommendations by the users.
We will complete our course with a discussion of novel trends in this area.
