The course Mathematical foundations of deep learning and applications is starting.
This year the course will host the contribution of Prof. Patrick Gallinari.
Patrick Gallinari is professor in Computer Science at Sorbonne University in Paris. His research focuses on statistical machine learning (ML) with applications in different fields such as semantic data analysis and complex data modeling. He has been one of the pionneers of neural network domain in France/ Europe and worked on the topic for about 10 years before switching to more general ML models. During this period he also investigated different application domains like Information Retrieval, Social Data analysis and User Modeling. Over the last years his research mainly focused on ML for structured data (sequences, graphs etc) and Deep Learning, today one of the major topic of the ML area.
