It is a pleasure to invite you to Technology for Cultural Heritage (Tech4CH) summer school. The summer school is intended primarily for graduate research students. The summer school will take place in Haifa, Israel on May 18th – May 22nd 2020.  The event is organized by the department of Information Systems at the University of Haifa and represents an event of the joint Italy-Israel Laboratory for Artificial Intelligence for Cultural Heritage (IT-IL AI4CH). This laboratory has as founding institutions the University of Trento, the University of Modena and reggio emilia and the Fondazione Bruno Kessler from the italian side and the University of Haifa and Technion from the Israeli side.

Leading international researchers will discuss technologies and human-computer interaction techniques suitable for the IoT era.

Visits to indoors and outdoors sites will inspire the participants to design novel interfaces. In addition to lecture presentations by leading researchers, participants will form groups where they will design and develop novel ideas for research projects around how novel technologies and interfaces can be integrated and deployed in a realistic setting for the benefit of users.

The first three days will be dedicated to lectures and small groups work and during the last two days the participants will take part in the Digital Humanities Hackathon (http://dighum.haifa.ac.il/index.php/en/hackathon-eng )

The summer school has a triple aim:
- Map out current state of the art technologies to the cultural heritage domain and identify design challenges.
- Examine the potential of technologies for enhancing the cultural heritage visit experience.
- Define initial ideas for solutions that may lead to future research proposals.
The envisioned benefits for participants are:
- Meet and network with renowned international experts
- Work in an interdisciplinary and culturally diverse team
- Collaborate on a written research roadmap for intelligent user interfaces applied to cultural heritage
- Develop a  research proposal/position papers/demos/posters to be submitted to relevant workshops/conferences
